ENTAFARMA Goes Green

2021-02-01

In order to minimise the impact of its activities on climate change and increase environmental performance and sustainability of its services, UAB ENTAFARMA is switching to green electricity, which will substantially contribute to environmental sustainability.

From 1 February 2021, 100% of the electricity used by the company will be generated from such renewable energy sources as solar, wind and water power. Constantly improving renewable energy technology helps the company not only to save in the long term, but also to ensure far greater sustainability of its activities.

The company’s decision to opt for energy from renewable energy sources is consistent with the vision of the Lithuanian energy sector and the long-term EU energy strategy. According to the National Energy Independence Strategy, 45% of electricity consumed in Lithuania will be produced from renewable energy sources by 2030.

By nurturing environmental awareness, the company aims to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and also to focus on efficient waste management and recycling. Since the use of energy from renewable sources allows generating electricity with minimal CO2 emissions, the decision by ENTAFARMA to switch to green energy has reduced CO2 emissions by as high as ~82%.

In order to increase the use of clean energy in its activities, the company will also invest in its own solar power plant. This year, a 250 kWp solar power plant is planned to be erected which will save both 32 tons of CO2 emissions per year and 4,704 trees used as fuel.

The company’s management believes that environmental awareness and investment in clean technologies create value for the environment, people and business.
